The Golden Yard

I saw this quilt posted on Whip-Up today.  I really like the idea of quilt making, quilts are beutiful works of art and too diffiucult to make - you don’t need to sew a zipper into a quilt.  But rarly do you see a quilt pattern that fits in with more modern decor.  This quilt is really cool - I like the geometic pattern and I think you could adapt this to work with lots of different fabrics.  I do like the colors that were selected for this quilt.

The blog A Quilt is Nice has a great tutorial with lots of pictures.

Film in the fridge created a zig-zag quilt with fall colors.  Runaway October created a zig-zag quilt with a slightly different take on the pattern but still had some great results.

If you were to make this quilt with fabrics from our shop - which fabrics would you choose?

Thanks to the folks at Craft for tweeting this oneThis 11th Hour scarf from the Purl Bee Blog is super!  I think I am going to try to knit one of these before christmas!

You can get all of the instructions from the Purl Bee Blog here.  Do you think this would work with 2 strands of one of the lion brand bulky yarns?  I am not sure if I will be able to buy some fancy yarn before the holiday.
