I was clicking around Etsy today - it gets kind of addictive. I do like that when I find something I like I can add it as a favorite so I can find it again. I was beginning to think we were the only Etsy sellers with a blog, so I did some searching and found some other Etsy shops that have blogs. Here are a few of the ones I found and their Etsy shops.

• Patti’s Origionals - custom clothing including the walnut collection of pioneer clothing

• Crazy Cakes - Emily makes lots of stuff with chenille - I really like these cupcakes. Her blog has some really nice posts and pictures from different craft fairs - check out this post on the Wellfleet Oyster Show.

Not Knit: Laptop Compubody Sock

I have thought about writing some blog posts about things that are not worth knitting every since I saw the knitting of socks become popular.  There have been a number of knitted items that I have seen on the internet.  This item, coincidentally a sock of sorts,  is so not worth knitting that I can’t not blog it.

While this evokes atributes of the cult favorite - the Slanket (see Slanket fans here , here, and here)- this may be one of the worst things I have ever seen come off of knitting needles.

I hope that you can find something better to spend your time knitting.  Luckily for you if you must have this item - you can buy one premade and save your knitting time for something slightly more useful.

What would you pay for a Pattern?

We have acquired a ton of old patterns of all sorts including a bunch from the 1980’s - what is a reasonable price point for vintage patterns?  Do you buy patterns? Do you sew with patterns? Do you use pattern’s for decoupage?

• Sew-Retro - has tons and tons of patterns and they are organized by decade
  
  • Also has a blog here - but it hasn’t been updated in a few months
• Vintage Pattern Photo Pool on Flickr is awesome -with over 800 members there are thousands of photos of vintage patterns.  I am just set up flickr account for us right now so we can post pictures too.

I know we said more coming soon last week but we have finally had some time to add some of these new treasures to the shop.
The polyester colonial toille that is on the top of the photo is amazing - the images include an auction, a mill and a man farming. All of this colonial goodness is printed on a semi sheer jersey material that has just a little strech.
