I heart Russian Join

So I never imagined this blog being a knitting blog, but I love this hint and I am happy to share.  I have been working on another entrelac piece.  I like knitting with multicolor yarn, but I don’t like the stripes. Entrelac is the perfect solution and it is really easy.  I have use the Danica pattern from Knitty.  I just use one multicolor yarn and never break off.
Earlier this year I was admiring Knitty’s fall patterns and browsing the Muir pattern - I quicky determined this was far too complicated for me, but I did catch the link to russian join.

Use the Russian Join to join yarn ends when necessary. Instructions for the Russian Join can be found here.

I have avoided projects that you have to join yarn on, I hate the little tails that stick out from knots.  Russian join has revolutionized my knitting life.  It is just brilliant.  The hardest part is threading the needle.

This picture gives you an idea of how the join works, full instructions - which are ultra easy are available here.
