I first came across this Etsy seller when from a picture their Make A List notebook on Garbella’s blog (another great Etsy seller that screenprints awesome shirts, totes, scarves).  We love the note book but we also really love this bangle!  I have a necklace with striped wood beads that I used to wear with everything until it broke.  The colors of this bangle caught my eye and then to find out it is made of an old skateboard even better!

Craft Hot or Not? Wrap Pants

Posted by: In: Free Patterns

Okay so we aren’t talking Brad Pitt here but on the quest to find the Brad Pitt of crafts we bring you the first installment of Hot or Not.  Craftster’s blog has a link to to this tutorial for Wrap Pants.   We aren’t quite sure what to think of these - are they totally silly - pants shouldn’t wrap. Or totally awesome wide leg pants that a novice who is afriad of zippers could stitch up quickly?  What do you think?

Have you made some wrap pants? Do you own wrap pants? We only found one blogger showing off some completed wrap pants here.

The tutorial is by LauPre who has some other lovely items for sale on her website.

I saw this on the Etsy blog today and I want to knit something with this amazing bamboo yarn.

This yarn is from Kitty Grrls.  Check out the Kitty Grrlz Etsy Shop, Blog and on Facebook.

Click here to learn about how you can win at $25 gift card to Kitty Grrlz.

What would you knit with this yarn?  The first thing that comes to mind is one of my old favorite patterns - claptois.  Any other ideas for what to make with this yarn?

Not Knit: Hooded Fur Trimmed Ponchette

Posted by: In: Not Knit

On of the categories of this blog that I hope to update more frequently is the Not Knit category.  Not Knit is dedicated to showing off things that probably shouldn’t be knit.  See the first Not Knit post here.

Today’s Not Knit is featured in the Lion Brand Yarn newsletter - the Knit Kit: Knit Hooded Ponchette.

We like ponchos, I might even be okay with knitting a hood - I am having a hard time of thinking why you would just want a hood.  But I just don’t know why you would want a hood on a ponco, or in this case ponchette.  If it is so cold out that you need a hood, you are probably going to need more than a ponchette to keep you warm.  So this makes the Not Knit list for being impractacle.  Additionally the fur trim is too much, just too much.  We are guessing that most other knitters out there agree with our thoughts on this fur trimmed bizarre garment and that is why the kit is on sale for 50% off.
